Brief Introduction of Previous Chairmen

  • Tien-Tzu Lin (1912-1955)
  • Shih-Mien Tu (1920-1989)
  • Ta-Tsai Liao (1923-2004)
  • Tiao-Kai So (1924-2000)
  • Ti Hsieh (1923) graduated from National Taiwan University College of Medicine in 1948.
  • Mow-Ming Hsu (1935) graduated from National Taiwan University College of Medicine in 1960.
  • Shiann-Yann Lee (1944) graduated from National Taiwan University College of Medicine in 1969. In 1992, he obtained  the doctor degree of medical science, Yokohama Municipal University (Japan) with the thesis " the research of the surgical therapy about the laryngotracheal stenosis". He promoted to the rank of professor in 1993 and was appointed as the chairman of the Department in 1993-1999.
  • Kai-Nan Lin (1948) graduated from the National Taiwan University College of Medicine in 1974. In 1991, he obtained  the Ph. D. of National Taiwan University College of Medicine with the thesis "Effect of Inner Ear Circulatory Disturbance on the Cochlear Structure and Function in the Guinea Pig ". He was appointed as the chairman of the Department in 1999-2005. He was elected as the president of director board of Taiwan Otolaryngological Society in 2001-2004.
  • Chuan-Jen Hsu (1951) graduated from National Taiwan University College of Medicine in 1976. In 1984, he obtained the doctor degree of medical science, Tokyo University (Japan) with the thesis "Activities of Carbonic Anhydrase in the Inner Ear". He promoted to the rank of professor in 2002 and was elected as the president of director board of Taiwan Otolaryngological Society in 2004-2007. He was appointed as the chairman of the Department from 2005-2011. 
  • Tzu-Yu Hsiao (1955) graduated from National Taiwan University College of Medicine in 1980. He obtained the PhD degree in 1994 at National Taiwan University with the thesis of "Studies on the Mechanisms of Phonation in the Larynx." He promoted to the rank of professor in 2003 and is appointed as the chairman of the Department from 2011-2017.
  • Jenq-Yuh Ko  (1957) graduated from National Taiwan University College of Medicine in 1982. He is appointed as the chairman of the Department in 2017.
