Residency training program provides certifying specialists training courses for physicians. Under the program, the department of internal medicine reqularly enrolls more than 40 new residents (including those in other medical institutions with mutual aid agreement) per year for a training period of 5 years in various disciplines of subspeciality. Specialist training (the first 3 years) and subspecialist training (the last 2 years) programs are given in the National Taiwan University Hospital, KK campus, and different medical institutions with mutual aid agreement.
Our missions and goals are to train residents to have the following characteristics:
- Competence as a physician to take care of the patients independently
- Foundamental medical knowledge and skill to be a subspecialist
- Enthusiasm for lifelong learning to be a clinical teacher
- Ability to advance the clinical service and basic research
- Genuine concern for humanity and medical ethics
