Academic activities

Meetings in the forms of Grand round, special lecture, mini-symposium, medical challenge, clinical practice, and morbidity-mortality conference are held at Wednesday and Friday morning in the Lecture room 101 and attended by medical students, residents, clinical fellows, and physicians. In terms of ward activities, morning meeting, case conference, journal reading, book reading, and combined conference with other departments are held on a routine basis.

  • Grand round
      Cases are presented by the first- or second-year residents every Wednesday to advance their ability to think critically and express precisely. The quality of clinical service and medical education is also improved after exchanging views and experiences between specialists.
     
  • Special lecture
      Distinguished local and foreign speakers are invited to address high-lighted speeches on the most updated topics every Wednesday or Friday to upgrade the quality of clinical service and scientific research.
     
  • Mini-symposium
      It is presented by the third year residents about the new advances in each fields of subspecialties.
     
  • Medical challenge
      Being held by the fourth-year residents, it is designed to sharpen the ability of decision making of medical students and junior residents and to provide them with integrated courses of practice and teaching.
     
  • Morbidity-mortality conference
      Cases are selected for discussing the causes of morbidity or mortality to achieve better quality of patient care.
