The National Taiwan University Medical Library (NTUML), the oldest medical library with the largest medical collection in Taiwan, was founded in 1899. The library moved to its current location in April 1989 and merged with the Central Library of the University Hospital in February 1991. In 1993, the College of Public Health was established; its library materials were transferred to NTUML.
