Scope of Services

Physical therapy center cooperated with orthopedic department, neurosurgery department, chest medicine department and other else intensively. We enhance patient-centered and multi-team approach in clinical practice.

The scope of service which we could provide includes:

  1. Post-operative physical therapy

The most common problems after operation include pain, edema, decreased muscle endurance, cardiopulmonary endurance and functional limitation. Physical therapist will educate patient about post operative limb exercise and early bed mobility exercise to reduce limb edema, relieve pain and improve muscle function. Besides, appropriate functional activity training, ambulation training, balance training, gait correction and correct assistive device using will further improve quality of life.

  1. Pain control therapy

Many kinds of methods physical therapist can use to relive pain. There are divided to three types of method.

Physical therapy modality: IFC, TENS, ultrasound, hot/cold pack. All of these have relative good effects while appropriate using.

Manual technique: several types of manual techniques such as PNF, therapeutic massage, mobilization technique, myofascial release technique can release soft tissue and relive pain.

Movement therapy: For reducing pain, physical therapist will train specific muscles, stretch tightness soft tissues based on a special designed exercise program to recover correct posture and activities.

  1. Customer-made foot orthosis

Physical therapy center provide customer-made foot orthosis and UCBL for pronated foot, high arch foot, fracture and neuroma related foot pain.

  1. Motor control assessment and training

People need complicated and precision neuro-musculoskeletal control to accomplish daily activities such as walking, bathing and housekeeping. It will become difficult to do these daily functional tasks, if we suffered from disease, traumatic injury or ageing effect. Physical therapist can use various facilitation techniques and therapeutic exercise to enhance motor performance, motor learning and motor control ability. Furthermore, physical therapist can help people to resume independent daily activity living.

  1. Cardiopulmonary fitness assessment and training

Physical therapy center provide geriatric individualized exercise prescription which can improve cardiopulmonary endurance and physical fitness safely. It can prevent the incidence of chronic disease as well. Besides, exercise prescription for children can prevent obesity and enhance regular exercise habit. For patients with internal medical disease such as cancer, obstructive lung disease and cardiac disease, the individualized exercise prescription can improve or maintain cardiopulmonary endurance, muscle function and respiratory efficiency. Patients can increase quality of life by relieve dyspnea and shortness of breath symptoms.

  1. Developmental assessment and early intervention

For high risk infant, physical therapist evaluate overall developmental status, includes muscle tone, primitive reflex, stimulation response, developmental mile stone and oral feeding condition. Physical therapist provide positioning, massage, oral motor training and teaching parents how to care about the preterm infant, how to prepare a comfortable and safety environment for infant.

Developmental assessment and early intervention

 

  1. Geriatric and woman health care

For geriatric problems (falling, urinary incontinence, disability) and chronic disease (DM, HTN, Dyslipidemia, pulmonary disease and obesity), Physical therapist provides individualized exercise program to improve elderly physical health, mental health and to decrease or prevent the risk of disability.

For woman health, physical therapist use pelvic floor muscle exercise, core muscle training program, biofeedback and electronic stimulation to enhance the structure of pelvic floor, reduce the urinary incontinence symptom. Moreover, decreasing the disease and symptoms related uncomfortable, improving the self-esteem and quality of life.

Health education consultation

 

  1. Physical fitness promotion

Physical therapy center provide physical fitness test and individualized exercise program for hospital workers. Besides, several exercise facilities well set in the physical fitness center where hospital workers can feel free to do exercise. We also designed a 3 month exercise program combined diet control lecture for workers with high risk of metabolic syndrome. Physical therapist helps co-workers to establish a regular and continuous exercise habit for promoting physical fitness, changing sedentary life style and preventing chronic disease.
