Minimally Invasive Surgery Training Center Our hospital established Minimally Invasive Surgery Training Center in January, 2007. This center offers different kinds of simulated micro-surgery scenarios for residents and intern surgeons, medical and nursing students, and allied health professionals-in-training. Surgery, gynecology, urology, ear-nose-throat specialty and ophthalmology operations could all be simulated here so as to enhance the quality of operation and to protect patient safety by means of repeated practice and simulated operation team work. Minimally Invasive Surgery Training Center provides animal operation and various kinds of manikins and instruments for learners to get familiar with the right way applying surgical instruments and to practice skills of operations. Endoscopes and surgical microscopes are also utilized to practice visuo-manual coordination and tissue cutting and suture. ˇ§Simulated Endoscopy Tutor Systemˇ¨ is another simulation for practicing basic skills of endoscopes and surgical operations by computerized simulated animation. By establishment of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Training Center, surgical skills will be enhanced and patient safety and quality of care will be promoted. All these efforts are to achieve this center an ideal training base to breed future surgical professionals.
