Our mission
CMIO is the first interdisciplinary platform established in Asia for the promotion of research in the clinical development of interventional oncology. CMIO is dedicated to the ideals of multidisciplinary collaborative therapy, basic academic research, the development of minimally invasive tools for cancer treatment, and medical training through the integration of expertise and resources. The ultimate goal is to relieve suffering and save lives, which is the duty of all medical professionals.
Brand development of CMIO
- The silhouette of the CMIO logo is similar to the red crucifix symbol found in most medical institutions. This deliberate choice reflects the fact that we share the same underlying principle of respect for all human beings and human life.
- The elements in the logo include an old European-style building and a shield. The building represents the old hospital building of NTHU. The shield on the outside represents the objectives of protecting and saving lives, while safeguarding the dignity of life. These images instill in the observer a sense of steadfastness and trust.
- The aim of CMIO is to combine knowledge from a variety of disciplines in dealing with cancer. Thus, the main visual feature of the logo is Chiron, a character from Greek mythology who represents human wisdom and animal power. The three-pointed weapon represents the multi-pronged approach adopted by CMIO in its fight against cancer.
- Current ablation therapy for cancer uses six types of energy (sound, light, cold, heat, electricity, flow) and two tools (lens and knife). These elements are represented in the logo by the eight stars extending down the shield.
- Blue was selected as the primary color for the logo for its ability to instill a sense of hope. The creamy-white color dominant in the font, shield, and old hospital gives a sense of warmth. Finally, the yellow stars are compatible with the blue background as a representation of cooperation.
Thus, the conceptual underpinnings of CMIO are manifest in its logo.
