Oral Diagnosis

Introduction

The clinic of the division was founded in 1958 by Dr. Hsueh-Wan Kuan. The clinic served as the entrance and screening unit for the patients who visited dental department of the National Taiwan University Hospital at the first time. In the year of 1993, the title of our clinic evolved as “Clinic of Oral Pathology and Diagnosis”, to describe our service and duty more precisely. The Division of Oral Pathology and Diagnosis was established in 1995. The division is now in charged of Dr. Julia Yu-Fong Chang and we provide services listed below.

Services

  1. Diagnosis of oral mucocutaneous lesions, precancerous lesions of oral squamous cell carcinoma, malignant and benign intraoral neoplasm; temporomandibular disorder, odontogenic cysts and tumors, salivary gland diseases, jaw bone diseases, infectious disease involving oromaxilofacial regions.
  2. Treatment of oral mucocutaneous lesions, precancerous lesions of oral squamous cell carcinoma (cryotherapy and photodynamic therapy), and salivary gland diseases.
  3. Pathological interpretation of biopsies and resection specimens in the head and neck regions
