Restroative and Esthetic Dentistry

Aims:

  1. To cultivate outstanding clinical dentist of operative and esthetic dentistry.
  2. To train the dentist with the ability to treat the difficult cases of restorative and esthetic defect.
  3. To enhance the knowledge and application of the innovate dental devices and materials.
  4. To promote the ability of research.

 

Training course:

Clinical aspect:

Each trainee should participate the clinical practice at least 5 half days per week, under the guidance of the attending and visiting staffs. All of the training dentists should reach the minimum requirements of treatment with complete data collection of each patient after the confirmation or co-signature by the attending staff. Certification of restorative and esthetic specialist training would only be given to those who complete the requirements stated above.

The quality of the treatment and service is maintained under the supervision of the attending staff during the training.

Clinical Minimal Requirement (each case should take the record of the photo for pre-and post treatment)
Clinical Requirements Minimal requirements:
Spacing closing restoration 6 cases
Class IV restoration 3 cases
Class III restoration 12 cases
Class II restoration 12  cases
Posterior inlay/Onlay restoration (Casting Gold) 2  cases
Posterior inlay/Onlay restoration (Ceramic) 5 cases
Veneer restoration 2 cases
Full ceramic crown restoration 3  cases
Implant esthetic treatment 1  case
Peiodontal esthetic treatment 1 case

 

Academic Course:

In order to enhance the quality of specialist training, the course is designed based on the standard of World top dental school which includes the basic science knowledge of the dental materials. Moreover, the restorative and esthetic dentistry department of National Taiwan University Hospital is now one of the qualified training centers of the Academy of Operative Dentistry, Taiwan R.O.C.

  2. Journal reading conference of the operative dentistry and dental materials.
  3. Book reading of the operative dentistry
  4. Seminar of Advanced Dental Biomaterials
  5. Seminar of Diagnosis and Treatment Planning of Operative Dentistry
  6. Seminar of Diagnosis and Treatment Planning of Esthetic Dentistry
  7. Seminar of Esthetic Implantology
