Aim

1. To cultivate outstanding clinical dentist of orthodontics to promote the quality of orthodontics in Taiwan. 
2. To provide the standard training of orthodontic specialists, and enhance the specialized ability of the training dentist. 
3. For preparation of the further education and training center of the dental department, which establish the fundamental and leadership of orthodontic training in Taiwan. 

Training Course

Clinical aspect

Each trainee should participate the clinical practice at least 5 half days per week, under the guidance of the attending and visiting staffs within 3 years. All of the training dentists should reach the minimum requirements of treatment with complete data collection of each patient after the confirmation or cosignature by the attending staff, and finish the courses . Certification of orthodontic specialist training would only be given to those who complete the requirements stated above. 

The quality of the treatment and service is maintained under the supervision of the attending staff during the training. 

Clinical Minimal Requirement

1. Treatment sheet of NTU orthodontic department of each patient should be documented and handed in at the end of every semester. 
2. Requirement must conform with the orthodontic specialist requirement established by Taiwan Association of Orthodontics . 

Academic Course

In order to enhance the quality of specialist training, the course is designed based on the reference of World's top dental colleges, which included the basic science knowledge of  the clinical orthodontics. 

Moreover, orthodontics department of National Taiwan University Hospital is now one of the qualified training centers of Taiwan Association of Orthodontics.

1. Orthodontics case conference 
2. Orthodontic journal reading conference 
3. Orthodontic diagnosis and treatment seminar
4. Special lecture of advanced clinical orthodontics. 
5. Interdisciplinary case conference (Prostho-Perio-ortho) 
6. Combined orthognathic case conference . 
7. Lectures of craniofacial anomalies.
