Development History

  • In April 1, 1899

"Taiwan governor medicine school" was established.  Dean of the Taipei hospital,山口秀高 (Hidetaka YAMAGUCHI), served as the professor and an adjunct  president of the medical school.

 

  • In February 1903

The surgery department I and II were merged as thesurgery-dermatosis-mycology department.  長野純藏 (Jyunzo NAGANO) was assigned as the head of the department.

 

  • In February 1908

The dermatosis-mycology department was separated from surgery department to be an independent department.  尾見薰 (Kaoru OMI) was assigned as the head of the department.

 

  • In April 1909

The dermatosis-mycology department was renamed as"dermatosis-venereal disease department" .

 

  • In August 1909

保乙彥 (Hiko HOOTSU) was assigned as the Dean of the Taiwan governor medicine school as well as the adjunct of the head of the dermatosis-venereal disease department.

 

  • In August 1913

保乙彥 (Hiko HOOTSU) went to Germany to study knowledge related to dermatosis-venereal disease department. 本村儀 (Inori MOTOMURA) was appointed as the chairman.

 

  • In April 1915

保乙彥 (Hiko HOOTSU) was reinstated as the head of the dermatosis-venereal disease department.

 

  • In April 30, 1919

The medicine school was renamed as the"Taiwan governor Taipei medicine specified school" .

 

  • In January 1936

Taiwan governor Taipei medicine specified school was reorganized as the subsidiary medicine specified department of the Taihoku (Taipei) Imperial University.

 

  • In January 1938

The medicine department of Taihoku (Taipei) Imperial University had the lecture series in “dermatology-urologyt”. 高橋信吉(Nobuyoshi TAKAAHASHI)was the professor and he became the first professor of dermatology-urology department in the medical discipline in Taiwan.

 

  • In August 1944

Professor 高橋 (TAKAHASHI) passed away and the Associate professor 秋間泰造 (Taizo AKIMA) took over the position of chairman.

 

  • In November 1945

The R.O.C. Government took over the former Taihoku (Taipei) Imperial University and reorganized and renamed it as National Taiwan University.Professor Yiou-Fu, Hsieh was the first chairman of dermatology-urology department while the subsidiary hospital was renamed as National Taiwan University Hospital.

 

  • In 1950

The outpatient special clinics for cryotherapy and plastic surgery were established.

 

  • In August 1961

The dermatology and urology department were split to give separate training to residents.

 

  • In October 1962

Dermatology and urology became two individual departments. Professor Dun-Ko, Chen served as the first chairman of dermatology department.

 

  • In 1964

The outpatient special clinic for acne was established.

 

  • In 1965

The outpatient special clinic for the treatment of polyps and skin tags was established.

 

  • In November 1965

Professor Yao-Ching, Liu was transferred to be the Dean of Tainan hospital. 

 

  • In October 1971

The dermatology department established its laboratory in immunofluorescent examination.

 

  • In August 1972

Professor Yao-Ching, Liu served as the chairman of dermatology department.

 

  • In August 1975

Associate Professor Su-Bo, Yieh took over the position of the chairman of dermatology department.

 

  • In 1977

The outpatient special clinic for psoriasis was established.

 

  • In 1979

A special outpatient clinic for patch-tests and photo tests was established.

 

  • In August 1981

Associate Professor Kuo-Lin, Yin took over the position of chairman of dermatology department.

 

  • In 1982

The special clinics in psychocutaneous disorders, immuno-dermatosis, and mycology were established.

 

  • In August 1985

Professor Yao-Ching, Liu took over the position of chairman of dermatology department.

 

  • In September 1989

Associate Professor Chee-Ching Sun became the chairman of dermatology department. 

 

  • In August 1995

Associate President Jun-Xiang, Choung took over the position of the chairman of dermatology department.

 

  • In August 1998

Professor Shiou-Hwa, Jee became the chairman of dermatology department.

 

  • In August 2004

Professor Hsin-Su, Yu became the chairman of dermatology department.

 

  • In August 2006

Associate professor Hsien-Ching Chiu became the chief leader of dermatology department.

 

  • In August 2013

Associate professor Li-Fang Wang has become the chief leader of dermatology department till now.
