The Division aims at constructing a maternal and child health service system and a comprehensive genetic health service network to upgrade the quality of the population, to care for members of the less privileged groups such as patients of rare diseases, to ensure that every pregnant woman maintains good health and that every baby grows and develops in well-being, to respect the value of life and dignity of women, and to provide them with access to friendly medical care environment.
To Provide women with information and consulting service of fertility regulation; to provide alien wives, mentally retarded women and psychiatric patients, and members of low-income families with counseling and services in fertility regulation.
To provide services in prenatal diagnosis for women of high-risk groups, screening of the newborns for congenital metabolic disorders, genetic health examination, counseling and services for patients of genetic disorders and their families, and to establish a quality assurance monitoring system.
