While the Department of geriatric medicine can take care of general health problem of the elderly (ex: health check-up), but usually focused on the elderly with multiple medical problems and common geriatric syndromes (ex: delirium, falls, incontinence, dementia, malnutrition, immobilization) and the disabled elderly, and focus on long-term care.

1. Elderly with simple medical conditions, not need to referred to the Department of geriatrics due to Age over 65.
2. Patients with age under 65-year-old have common geriatric syndromes could be transferred to the Department of geriatrics

• Not all physicians service elderly patients are geriatric specialists

Department of Geriatrics provide a platform to integrate multidisciplinary professionals

1. To provide most suitable service for the elderly patients
2. To provide training, continuity studies and learning for all medical staff
3. To study and improve the geriatric medical care model or policy
