Since its institutional change from the Department of Health Yun-Lin Hospital in 2004, the NTUH Yun-Lin Branch is now comprised of two campuses: Dou-Liou and Hu-Wei. Upholding the core values of "patients first, teamwork and collaboration, commitment and responsibility, innovation and excellence, and integrity and honesty", it is the Branch's mission to enhance the health of the people in Yun-Lin County and the surrounding area, raise the quality of their medical care, and engage in providing medical services, teaching and research.
The entire Branch, including the nursing home, chronic psychiatric ward, and inpatient care, has a total of 1,108 beds. In addition to general outpatient and inpatient services, the successive establishment of the "Cardiovascular Center", "Hepatobiliary Center", "Health Management Center", and "Cosmetic Surgery Center" has also been completed on the Dou-Liou campus. The Hu-Wei campus focuses on oncology treatments, where the Oncology Center has been established to provide integrated services for all types of cancer treatment.
The Branch had excellent service quality in 2009. It won many awards in contests for quality, including the 10th Healthcare Quality Award from the Joint Commission on Hospital Accreditation under the category of quality improvement, making it the only institute in the whole country to win the prize for that year. The Branch participated in the Symbol of National Quality (SNQ) Safety and Quality Awards and the Critical Recovery Team of the Emergency Medicine Department and the AIDS Care Team of the Infection Control Center both received the National Biotechnology and Medical Care Quality accreditation. The Branch's information security management system also received the ISO 27001 certification. In the future, there will be active development of the "Emergency Critical Care Center" and "Organ Transplantation Center", enabling the Branch to work towards an all-encompassing medical center. All 1,500 plus staff working in the Branch will stand fast to the conviction of "patient first" in hopes of making the Yun-Lin Branch the NTUH in southern Taiwan.
