Jin-Shan Branch

In order to provide prompt medical care for North Coast residents, the North Coast Jin-Shan Hospital Foundation was established through the generosity of Taiwan Power Company's Nuclear Power Station, which wanted to contribute to the local community, as well as establish a hospital to support the health management project for its employees. The Taiwan government also shares the same desire of taking care of the Nuclear Power Station employees and the local community. Furthermore, the hospital helps ensure that the Nuclear Power Station can remain as a sustainable operation.

The Jin-Shan Hospital merged into the NTUH healthcare system in October 2010 to become the NTUH Jin-Shan Branch Hospital. The North Coast area is a closed environment with hills behind, sea in front, and a large number of older residents. The Jin-Shan Branch Hospital benefits from the resources of the NTUH Taipei Main Hospital so as to be able to conduct medical education and clinical research, provide integrated health care and community medical services, offer geriatric care, allow for new models of medical care (e.g. capitation payment or household payment), implement telemedicine, etc., in order to build up a healthy community. Furthermore, the Jin-Shan Branch Hospital will improve the quality of the community's medical care and will increase the value of the neighborhood with full support from the NTUH Taipei Main Hospital.

The Jin-Shan Branch Hospital will cooperate with the government to take advantage of the local geography and develop hot spring therapy tourism. In determining future directions, the hospital will employ its strengths, utilize the location, and keep in mind its social responsibilities. The initial plan is to advocate health promotion, to promote cosmetic medical care, and to assess the possibilities for developing hot spring therapy tourism. In the future, the hospital will consider the needs of local residents while bringing NTUH medical quality to the Jin-Shan area. The goal of the Jin-Shan Branch Hospital is to take care of local residents and to develop its distinctive medical services. The hospital's core values are the Five S's: simplicity, speed (slowness), sophistication, service, and separation.
