Introduction

Purpose

To enhance nosocomial infection control, prevent spreading of communicable diseases, insure safety of patients and health-care workers, and improve quality of medical care.

 

Members

  1. Director: Deputy Superintendent or an infection control doctor appointed by the Superintendent to be in charge of the Center's operations.
  2. Executive Secretary: An infection control doctor appointed by the Superintendent to execute the tasks assigned by the Director.
  3. Infection control nurses, medical laboratory scientist, physicians, and case managers appointed by the Director or the Executive Secretary under the authorization of the Superintendent.

 

Missions

  1. Formulate and implement infection control policies and measures in the hospital.
  2. Monitor and manage all possible infection events in every units of the hospital.
  3. Supervise medical personnel in reporting communicable diseases and to follow these cases.
  4. Manage and restrict the usage of antimicrobial agents.
  5. Supervise the implementation of infection control measures in every unit of the hospitals.
  6. Set up measures of health protection for hospital staffs.
  7. Arrange education and training programs for hospital staff.
  8. Arrange activities to interchange experience with international professionals. Provide training for personnel from other institutes.
  9. All other work related to infection control.
