National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) Stroke Center
The NTUH Stroke Center is an integrated, multidisciplinary collaborative team dedicated to delivering comprehensive, high-quality, humanistic, and patient-centered care for patients with strokes.
The NTUH Stroke Center has achieved excellence across various domains, including acute stroke intensive care, intravenous thrombolysis, endovascular thrombectomy (EVT), end-of-life care for severe stroke patients, and cutting-edge clinical and basic research. In recent years, the Center has continuously refined its clinical care and quality outcomes, earning significant external recognition:
• Disease-Specific Care Certification: Successfully passed the Joint Commission of Taiwan (JCT) Cerebrovascular Accident Disease Care Standards Certification in 2020 and received re-certification in 2024.
• National Healthcare Quality Award (NHQA): Honored with the "Center of Excellence" award in the System Category by the JCT in 2024.
• Global Recognition for Mechanical Thrombectomy: In 2024, the NTUH Stroke Center was honored with the "Platinum Award" from the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology (SVIN). This prestigious recognition, part of the Mission Thrombectomy Regional Committee Recognition Awards (2023-24), celebrates the center's exceptional achievements in advancing regional access to and the effectiveness of Endovascular Thrombectomy (EVT).
