- What articles should I bring with me when I am being hospitalized?
A: The hospital will provide each patient with a pillow, two nylon blankets (there is an extra charge of NT $100 /each for an additional blanket), and a hot water thermos There is a telephone available in the single/double occupancy bed rooms. During your hospital stay, you may bring your personal daily care items, clothing and sleep wear etc. There are various articles that can be purchased in shops in the hospital. The hospital also provides baby cribs /wheelchairs for pediatrics. Please do not bring precious valuables to the hospital; if you do so, you must safeguard them yourself. There are automatic bank machines available at the hospital on the 1st floor and in the basement (B1).
- Is television available for patients?
A: A television is provided in the single rooms only. There is also television available in the Visitors’ Lounge on each floor. TV hours are from 8:30 am to 22:00 pm.
- Where can we heat up our food?
A: The coin operated food heating equipment is available on each floor except in the Intensive Care Units (ICU).
- Is there anywhere I can wash and dry my clothes?
A: Each floor has an automatic coin operated laundry. Please do not hang your wet clothes in the air to dry.
- What is the cost of a patient's room in the hospital?
A: The single and double occupancy rooms are not paid in full by the National Health Insurance so you must pay a price difference. If you want to know details about this, just ask the clerk in the ward or inquire at the Department of Medical Affairs.
- Should I prepare my own meals or will the hospital prepare them for me? Will the hospital also supply meals for family members?
A: Our dietetic department can supply meals for patients and family members when requested. We have a large variety of meals, e.g., general diet, vegetarian diet, pregnancy diet, maternity diet, pediatric diet etc. The doctor also modifies diets (like treatment and/or tube feedings) according to the patient's medical needs. Meals are delivered personally by dietetic department employees. Breakfast is delivered 7:30 am to 8:00 am, lunch at 11:30 am to12:00 pm and dinner at 17:30 am to 18:00 pm. Please notify the ward or call the dietetic office (Extension 261513) if you have any inquiries about your diet.
- How can I hire a caregiver attendant?
A: Except for patients in Intensive Care Units (ICU), you may apply at the nurses' station to hire a caregiver attendant. Tell the clerk or the nurses your preferences, e.g., 24 hours shift, day shift, or night shift; male or female; spoken language needed, or anything else. Please do not employ a caregiver attendant on your own.
- Are there special visiting hours at the hospital?
A: There are restrictions on entering the hospital from 22:00 pm to 6:00 am. Since caregivers will have their certificates they will be able to enter the hospital during these times. These certificates will be returned to the clerk when the patient is discharged.
- How can I apply for a medical certificate?
A: During hospitalization, you can apply for medical certificates and other certificates from the ward clerk. However, after discharge from the hospital, you must apply in the out patient clinic for any medical certificate you need.
- What are the visiting hours in the intensive care units (ICU)?
A: Visiting hours in the medical, surgical, pediatric and neonatal ICU:
11:00 am - 12:00 pm
14:00 pm - 15:00 pm
19:30 pm - 20:30 pm
Visiting hours in the burn ICU:
12:00 pm - 13:00 pm
17:00 pm - 18:00 pm
Visiting hours in the burn ward:
12:00 pm - 14:00 pm
18:00 pm - 21:00 pm
(However, in the burn ward, one family member may stay with the patient the whole 24 hours.)
- Can I ask for a leave while I am hospitalized?
A: If your condition allows, and your doctor agrees that you may leave the hospital temporarily, the nurse will have you sign a leave of absence slip. The National Health Insurance Bureau requests that patients not be absent from the hospital overnight. If you take a leave of absence without having followed the above regulations, the National Health Insurance will not pay your hospital fees.
- How much does it cost to park in the hospital parking lot?
A: From 8:00 am – 17:00 pm, the parking fee is accumulative: 1st hour: $60: with an additional $10NT fee each subsequent hour until it reaches $100NT. After 17:00pm the fee is $50NT each hour.
