 The Division of Obstetrics at National Taiwan University Hospital offers a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services. Routine screenings and checkups, as well as diagnostic workups for specialized problems, are available. The physician staffs include specialists in maternal-fetal health and high-risk obstetrics.


Complete pregnancy care, including:

  1. Antenatal examinations    
  2. Genetic screening    
  3. Vaginal birth    
  4. Vaginal birth after Cesarean delivery (VBAC)
  5. Ultrasound evaluations
  6. Pre-pregnancy counseling
  7. Cesarean delivery

Clinical services include:

  1. Prenatal and postpartum care including fetal and genetic testing
  2. Diagnosis and counseling for low and high risk pregnancies
  3. Obstetrical delivery service including 24 hour in house OB Anesthesia coverage
  4. General obstetric and high risk pregnancy
  5. Genetic Counseling: Experienced counselors and geneticists educate patients regarding the risks of advanced maternal age, Maternal serum Down syndrome screening, positive alpha fetoprotein screening, metabolic, chromosomal, or physical abnormalities, teratogen exposure including chemotherapy, toxins, infections, alcohol, drugs or other medications as well as ultrasound diagnosed anomaly.
  6. Offer screening for Thalassemia disease.
  7. Prenatal diagnosis by ultrasound, amniocentesis, and percutaneous umbilical blood sampling.
  8. Fetal assessment through nonstress testing, amniotic fluid evaluation and biophysical profile
