Attending Physicians Forum

Attending Physician Forum is hosted by no one else but the Superintendent of NTUH himself and all attending physicians of each and every department or discipline of the Hospital are required to attend the forum.  Because the room chosen to house the forum is not quite big enough to accommodate current attending physicians of the Hospital all at a time for one thing, and also by taking into consideration of rendering some flexibility and convenience to the participating attending physicians for another, each forum is held not just at one time slot but rather on two separate dates and each attending physician is asked to be there on either one of them.  This forum has been held 2 or 3 times each year in the past.  At the forum the Superintendent would first make a presentation talking about the present situation of the Hospital to enable all attending physicians in the audience to thoroughly understand NTUH’s basic guiding policies, objectives, and current operational circumstances.  After that, directors of relevant departments are invited to deliver reports on some selected important topics so to further familiar the audience with the transition directions of the on-going medical environment.  Then there is a so-called “two-way traffic” time-slot, in which the attending physicians in the audience are urged to freely raise all kinds of inquiries, suggestions, and comments and they are to be responded or elaborated on-site by the Superintendent, the Vice Superintendents, and/or executives of the relevant units.  The purpose of this idea exchange is to establish a sound way of vertical communication and channel and thus, through which, to cohere the centripetal force of all fellow attending physicians of the Hospital.
