Successful live-related kidney transplant for the youngest child (1 year and 8 months old) in Taiwan. Modifiec auto-transplantation technique for excision of left atrial malignant fibrohistocytoma. Successful live-related kidney transplant for two-pair old aged patients (donors' age, 67, 68; receipients' age, 68, 67). First successful bilateral lung transplantation combined with cardiac repair for atrial septal defect with severe pulmonary hypertension of Eisenmenger's syndrome in Taiwan. Completion of 200 liver transplants. Completion of 272heart transplant, the largest seriesin Asia. Successful treatment of a patient with deep burn over 97% of body surface. Coronary implantation and bidirectional coronary perfusion to treat anomalous left coronary artery from pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) with severe heart failure and mitral regurgitation. Set-up of CyberKnife Radiosurgery center for treatment of neoplasms inside and outside cranium. The neurosurgical team started to perform awakes surgery for patients with brain tumor on or near important functional area. The neurosurgical team started to perform intra-operative brain stem cranial nerve nuclei mapping. Set up ECPR program and Publication of ECMO assisted cardiopulmonary resuscitation in Lancet 1000 cases of ECMO experience in NTUH. A man survived 16 days without a heart while awaiting transplant surgery. |

Publication of Hybrid MIS surgery for 500 cases gastric cancer. Publication of the third best grades of Mini-Whipple sugery in Asia. Publication of the first successful Hybird Surgery. A 1.6 kilogram premature infants undergo tracheal tracheoplasty, is the world's lightest case of this kind of operation. Set-up of Weight loss and Metabolic surgery center is established in September. |

NTUH-Surgery received Outstanding Award in Medical Team on 2015 BSC (balanced scorecard) and OKR (object and key result) Evaluation. NTUH–Surgery received Honorable Award in Medical Team on 2015 Annual Report Evaluation. |
2017 |
Dr. Shu-Chien Huang performed Taiwan’s first ventricular septation combined with arterial switch operation. Dr. Shu-Chien Huang developed a mini-invasive pulmonary valve replacement procedure for adult Tetralogy of Fallot patient who has pulmonary regurgitation after surgery, so as to avoid re-opening of chest. NTUH-Surgery received Outstanding Award in Medical Team on BSC (balanced scorecard) and OKR (object and key result) Evaluation, 2016. The Centre of Mini-invasive Interventional Oncology CMIO, led by Dr. Kai-Wen Huang, received Award for Excellent Clinical Service – 3rd Place, NTUH. Prof. Chiun-Sheng Huang received Outstanding Award for Research – Medical Technology Innovation 2017, NTUH. Opening of NTUH Weight Loss and Metabolic Surgery Center located on the 9th floor of the Research Building on November 29th. The medical team for Nanoknife treatment has been recognized worldwide. NTUH is among the three authorized clinical training centers for the treatment in the world and the only one in the Asia-Pacific region. “Newer Lobe, Better Day” - The Lung transplant team received a certificate with the 2017 SNQ (Symbol of National Quality) in Hospital Category. “One Click to Live Your Life – the world’s best ECPR” - The cardiovascular surgery ECMO team received a Golden Award from the 2017 SNQ (Symbol of National Quality) in Hospital Category.
