The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at National Taiwan University Children's Hospital specializes in common pediatric infectious diseases, vaccinology, maternal and child health, sexually-transmitted diseases, congenital and perinatal infection, and public health policy. As the referral center of northern Taiwan, we are at the forefront of complicated seasonal infectious diseases. We work closely with the Centers for Disease Control, Taiwan to monitor global and regional outbreaks as well as in hospital surveillance on appropriate antibiotic prescriptions and infection control. Through participation in various national societies, we continuously work with Health Promotion Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare on vaccine policies and implementation. Our in-house diagnostic panel of respiratory pathogens include Mycoplasma pneumoniae, influenza, enteroviruses, parvovirus B19, and metapneumovirus for rapid and accurate diagnosis of diseases.
We specialize in caring for children with multiple comorbidities including heart surgery, autoimmune diseases, premature babies, and children with cancer. Together with a multidisciplinary team of diagnostic and interventional radiologists, otorhinolaryngologists, orthopedic, and plastic surgeons, we aim to provide exemplary care in infectious diseases by swift diagnosis, individualized therapy, and early home preparation. After all, the home and family is where our children really belong.
