The Division of Thoracic Surgery primarily serves patients with diseases arising in the chest, including the lungs, mediastinum, and esophagus.

- Lung tumor or cancer
- Inflammatory lung diseases such as bronchiectasis, tuberculosis, or fungal infection
- Pneumothorax (spontaneous or traumatic)
- Empyema
- Mediastinal tumor
- Myasthenia gravis
- Mediastinal lymphadenopathy
- Benign or malignant airway stenosis
- Esophageal tumor or cancer
- Esophageal diverticulum or stricture
- Funnel chest or pigeon chest
- End-stage lung diseases (for lung transplantation)
- Flexible and rigid bronchoscopy, thoracoscopy, and mediastinoscopy
- Respiratory ICU services
- Outpatient surgical services
