General Surgery

General surgeons in NTUH serve patients with a broad range of surgical problems.

Services include:

  1. remove of gall stones or intra-hepatic stones
  2. tumor excision of gastro-intestine, liver, gall bladder and pancrease
  3. intractable abdominal pain caused by chronic pancreatitis
  4. peptic ulcer related complication, such as bleeding, perforation, pylorus obstruction or intractable pain
  5. hepatic or pancreas abscess drainage
  6. esophageal varicose vein bleeding in case medical treatment fail
  7. unable to enteral nutrition
  8. gastro-intestinal obstruction
  9. thyroid or parathyroid tumor
  10. intractable hyperthyroidism
  11. hyperparathyroidism
  12. breast tumor
  13. breast abscess
  14. renal failure (transplantation, AV shunt, CAPD catheter implant)
  15. hepatic failure (liver transplantation)
  16. IDDM (pancreas transplantation)
